Developed as a hobby, Plague Inc. went viral, becoming the U.K. and U.S. top paid iPhone & iPad app in a mere 5 days from launch and is still going strong over a year later. It is one of the top mobile games of 2012 and 2013 with millions of downloads and has won multiple awards.

Plague Inc. is a unique mix of high strategy and realistic simulation which lets players create and control a global plague whilst adapting against everything humanity can do to defend itself. Despite the dark premise, it even attracted the attention of the US government when the CDC invited James over to give several directors seminars on Plague Inc.’s educational potential.

Since the launch back in May 2012, James quit his job as a strategy consultant and now works on Plague Inc. full time through his company Ndemic Creations.

When speaking with James, he said that he “is currently having the time of his life” and pointed out that his story “is a wonderful example of how technology and globalisation create exciting opportunities that young entrepreneurs can take advantage of”.
