Queen’s Scholar – Marc Franklin
goes down under
Marc Franklin was recommended by the Headmaster to the QEH Old Boys Society as a suitable candidate to be considered for the Queen’s Scholar award which was awarded annually to an outstanding scholar.
The award came in the form of a grant of £500 per annum for three years for the purpose of defraying some of the expenses of a University degree course. Marc gained a place at Cardiff to study medicine.
Earlier this year, he was awarded an elective in Melbourne to continue his practical experience. It is nice to hear that he had such wide ranging hands on surgical experiences in Australia. He also visited the Sepsis Unit at the Department of Clinical Excellence in Sydney where they were very impressed with his achievements and dedication to his subject.
Marc has always kept the Old Boys in touch with his progress and achievements.
